பெட்கேரி பஸ்தி

சமணக்குடியிருப்பு பகுதியின் கடைசியில் அமைந்துள்ள ஆலயம், பெட்கெரி பஸ்தி. சாலையில் செல்பவர்கள் திரும்பி தரிசன்ம் செய்ய வசதியாக உயரமாக நேராக அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது தனித்துவமாகும்.

நுழைவாயின் படிகளின் இருபுறம் திண்னையும், மேற்கூரையுடன் குடவரை  போன்ற  அமைப்புள்ளது. அதனைக் கடந்தால் திருச்சுற்று  அதன் கோடியில் நாகராஜர் உருவம் படத்துடனான புடைப்புச்சிற்பம் தனிச்  சன்னதியாக கட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது.

மானஸ்தம்பம், பலிபீட அமைப்பு தென்படவில்லை. மிகச்சிறிய மேடை  இரு தூண்களுடன் முகமண்டபம் போன்ற கட்டைத்தாண்டிச் சென்றால்  பிரார்த்தனைக்  கூடம், அதற்கடுத்த அர்த்த  மண்டப  நுழைவாயிலுக்கு  வெளியே இருபுறமும் துவாரபாலகர்கள்  புடைப்புச் சிற்பங்கள்  4 அடியுயரத்தில் காணப்படுகிறது.

அர்த்த மண்டபத்தில் மரப்பெட்டி அடுக்குகளில் 24 திர்த்தங்கரர்கள் உலோக பிரதிமைகள் பிரபாவளியுடனும், கற்சிற்பத்தில் 24 திர்த்தங்கரர் தொகுப்பும், ஸ்ரீ பார்ஸ்வநாதர் சிற்பம் நின்ற நிலையிலும், சித்தபரமேஷ்டி, ஸ்ருதஸ்கந்தம் மற்றும் கணதரர் உலோகச் சிலைகளும் வரிசையாக அமர்த்தப்பட்டுள்ளன.

அடுத்த கர்ப்பகுடி வேதியில் வெண் சலவைக்கல்லால் ஆன 2.5 அடியுயர மஹாவீரர் சிற்பம் பிரதிஷ்டை செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. பின்புறம் உலோகத்தினாலான பிரபாவளி  சிங்காதனத்தின் பின்புற வேலைப்பாடு போன்று காணப்படுகிறது. 

பிரபாசந்திரர் எனும் முனிவர் அடிக்கடி இவ்வாலயத்திற்கு வந்து பிரவசனம் செய்வதைக் கேட்ட , பத்மநாபன் எனும் கவிஞர் தனது ராமச்சந்திரா எனும் நூலினை  முடித்து வழங்கினார் என்ற செய்திப்பலகை  இவ்வாலத்தின்  வரலாற்று நிகழ்வைத் தெரிவிக்கிறது.

மிகப்புராதனமாக இவ்வாலயம் 12ம் நூற்றாண்டைச் சார்ந்ததாக  இருக்க வேண்டும். அஸ்ஸாமைச் சேர்ந்த ஒரு  ஸ்ராவகரால் புதுப்பிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள இவ்வாலயம், ஜைனத் தெருவிற்கு  தெற்கே ஒரு 300 அடி தூரத்தில் அமைந்துள்ளது.

Betkeri basadi

This  basadi comes  at  the  end  of Jain pet  on  the side of Bettada  keri. It has  a vast surrounding.  Bhagawan Shri Mahaveeraswamy in white stone seated as  Moolnayaka.  The idol stands elevated from the road and  gives darshan to  all going along the road. The erstwhile Head of  the  Jain Mutt got this Basadi  renovated  by a  Shravaka from  Assam.

Main entry has small protrude roof with platforms on bothsides of aisle. Nagaraja stone idols shrine is on the circumbulance path way. The structure of  the temple  seems it belongs to 12^th Century AD. But no Manasthamb sacred pillar and palipeeta is there.

Small Mugamantap, then Prayer hall, arthamantap and Garbhakudi are the sections of centre block. On two sides of entryway of the Arthamantap, Dwarabalagas bas relief welcomes the devotees. Inside the Arthamantap vertical wooden boxes gallery has 24 jinar metal pratima with prabavali arch. On the surface platform Sruthaskanth, Siddha bahawan hollow shape, Gandhar, black stone 24 thirthankar cluster and Shri Parshwa jinar with bhanamudi  were arranged to seat accordingly.

A renouncer by name Prabhachandra Swamy  often used to visit this basadi. Inspired by the teachings of him, a jain poet by name Padmanabha completed the incomplete poetic work titled Sri Ramachandra Charita.
